The Viral Garlic Ramen You Can Make at Home

Garlic. Instant ramen. One saucepan.

This viral recipe proves you don’t need fancy ingredients or complicated equipment to make something that tastes unexpectedly delicious. It’s simple, comforting, and surprisingly elevated, especially when you take a little care with the garlic. Here’s how to do it, even if you don’t have an oven.

What You’ll Need

Ingredients
1 pack instant ramyeon (any brand you love)
1 whole bulb of garlic
Water (slightly less than packet suggests)
1 seasoning packet (use to taste)
A small handful of uncooked ramen noodles (for topping)

Kitchen Tools
Saucepan with a lid
Knife (to trim the garlic)
Spoon or fork (for mashing garlic)
That’s it. No special equipment needed.

How to Make the Viral Garlic Ramen

Step 1: Gently Grill the Garlic
Even without an oven, you can bring out the garlic’s sweetness.
Trim the top of the garlic bulb to expose the cloves.
Place it cut-side down in a dry pan over low heat.
Cover with a lid and let it cook gently for 8–10 minutes, rotating every few minutes.
If the pan looks dry, add 1–2 tablespoons of water and re-cover.
You’re not trying to char it. Just soften it and release the natural sweetness.

Step 2: Boil the Garlic
Add water to the pan with the garlic.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 8–10 minutes, until the bulb feels soft when pressed.
The garlic is now mellow, sweet, and ready to melt into your broth.

Step 3: Season the Broth
Add 70–80% of the seasoning packet to the pot.
Let it simmer gently.
This keeps the flavor balanced and lets the garlic shine.

Step 4: Cook the Noodles
Remove the garlic bulb and set aside.
Add the ramen noodles to the boiling broth and cook according to the packet (usually 3–4 minutes).

Step 5:Peel & Mash the Garlic
Peel away the soft garlic clove, they should slide off easily.
Mash into a smooth paste with a fork or spoon.
This is the moment your kitchen starts smelling unexpectedly luxurious.

Step 6: Bring It All Together
Stir the mashed garlic back into the noodles and broth.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Sprinkle uncooked ramen bits on top for crunch.

A good saucepan can make all the difference: it helps simmer gently, soften the garlic evenly, and maintain a balanced broth. Simple tools. Better results.
